Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This site is a guide, not a service you sign up for. There is no account to create, nothing to pay for, and no reason for us to build a profile of you. This page explains, in plain words, what happens to information when you read a page or write to us.

Who this policy belongs to

This website, edistrictuttarpradesh.com, is run by Mohsin Raza from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is an independent guide to the eDistrict UP portal. It is not a government website and is not connected to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, NIC or the official portal at edistrict.up.gov.in.

Questions about this policy, or a request about your own information, can go to that email address. I answer them myself.

The short version

  • There are no accounts and no logins on this site.
  • Reading a page requires you to give nothing at all.
  • The contact form sends your message to my email. It is not saved on this website.
  • Anything you type into the fillable declaration form stays inside your browser and is never sent anywhere.
  • We never ask for your Aadhaar number, eSathi password, OTP or any payment — and never will.
  • Google Analytics counts visits, and you can switch it off with the Decline button in the notice at the bottom of the screen. No advertising tags are installed today; the table further down this page shows the status of each tool.

What happens when you simply read a page

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare records basic technical details of each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser and device type. This is what keeps a website online — it is used to serve pages quickly, to block attacks and abuse, and for nothing else. These records live with Cloudflare, not in any database of ours; we have no database of visitors.

We do not build profiles, we do not sell or share information with data brokers, and we do not try to identify who you are.

The contact form, email and phone

The contact page asks for your name, email address, a reason, your message, and optionally a phone number. When you send it, that message is delivered to my inbox by Resend, an email delivery service. It is not stored on this website, and there is no database behind the form.

I use what you send only to reply to you and, where you have reported a mistake, to correct the guide. I do not add you to any mailing list. Messages stay in my email account for as long as they are useful for that conversation — normally up to twelve months — and you can ask me to delete yours sooner.

Please do not send your Aadhaar number, eSathi password, OTP, bank details or scanned certificates. I never need them, and email is not a safe place for them.

If you write or call instead of using the form, the same applies: your message or number is used to answer you, and nothing more.

The fillable declaration form

The self-declaration form on this site is filled in and printed entirely inside your own browser. The name, parents’ names, address, Aadhaar number and other details you type are never transmitted to this website or to anyone else, and they are not saved between visits — closing the tab clears them. When you press Print, the printing happens on your own device.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics does set cookies — named _ga and _ga_ plus an identifier — which hold a randomly generated identifier so that two page views from the same browser are counted as one visit. They are set when the page loads, before you answer the notice at the bottom of the screen.

Press Decline in that notice and Google Analytics is switched off: the cookies it has set are deleted straight away, and on every later page you open, it is stopped before it loads and measures nothing. Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage so the notice stops asking — that one entry stays either way.

To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings — the notice will appear again on your next visit. If advertising is ever added, the ad network will set its own cookies, and this page will say so before that happens. You can always block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Analytics, tag manager and advertising

I want to know which pages actually help people, so the site measures how they are read. The table below lists every such tool and whether it is switched on right now. The status column is generated from the site’s own configuration, so it cannot quietly drift out of date.

ToolWhat it doesStatus
Google Tag ManagerLoads the tags listed below. Sets no cookies of its own, but the tags it loads may.Not in use yet
Google Analytics 4Counts visits and shows which pages are read, from where, on what kind of device. Uses cookies and a randomly generated identifier; IP addresses are shortened by Google before storage. In use
Google Search ConsoleShows which search queries bring people here. It reads data from Google’s side and places nothing on your device. Not in use yet
Advertising (e.g. Google AdSense)If ads are ever added, the ad network sets its own cookies and may personalise what you see. This policy will say so before that happens. Not in use yet

When Google tools are active, data goes to Google LLC and is handled under Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google’s browser add-on, and you can control ad personalisation in your Google account settings. Using a browser’s "do not track" or blocking setting also works — nothing on this site tries to defeat it.

Other services this site relies on

  • Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of every page.
  • Resend — delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
  • Google Fonts — the Nastaliq typeface used on the Urdu pages is loaded from Google’s servers, which means Google sees the IP address and browser of readers on those pages.
  • DigiLocker, eSathi and the official eDistrict portal — these are separate government websites. Following a link to them takes you out of this site and under their rules and privacy policies.

Cloudflare, Google and Resend process data on servers outside India, including in the European Union and the United States.

Children

This guide is written for adults applying for certificates, often on behalf of their families. It is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information about them. Please do not send a child’s documents or details through the contact form.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be erased. In practice the only thing I am likely to hold is an email conversation you started.

Write to mr@edistrictuttarpradesh.com and I will answer within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. For anything about an application on the government portal — your data there, a rejection, a refund — the official helpline on the contact page is the right place, not me.

Security

Every page is served over HTTPS. The site holds no visitor database and no login system, which removes most of what could be stolen from it. Messages sent through the form live in my email account, which is protected by a strong password and two-factor authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, which is the reason for the warning above about sensitive documents.

Changes to this policy

When the site changes — new tools, new features — this page is updated with it, and the date at the top changes. Significant changes, such as switching on analytics or advertising, will be described here before they take effect.
